Beginner Cardigan

Hey guys! This blue cardigan is great for any beginner! It is really simple to make, but a little time consuming just because the entire pattern is worked in single crochet. So it takes a little while to work up, but the end result is so beautiful and so satisfying once finished. Don’t be fooled by no sleeves this cardigan is very warm and prefect for chilly weather. So without further ado lets get started!

Materials:

  • 6 Skeins of Lion Brand Jeans Yarn
  • 6mm hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain
  • St = Stitch
  • Sc = Singel crochet

Pattern:

**Note** This entire pattern is worked in the Back Loops ONLY.

  • Ch 141, In second ch from hook sc and across, ch 1 turn your work
  • Row 2: Sc in each st across, ch 1 turn your work
  • Row 3-139 : Repeat row 2
  • Row 140: Sc in each st across, cut yarn and weave in ends.

Sewing:

In the photo below I folded my work in half and I have my hook placed at the bottom, where I originally chained 141. The Vertical of this work is what you worked up.

In the bottom photo here, I placed my hook at the half way mark. On the right side of the photo the piece is open, do not sew that.

In the next photo below sew the piece together from A to B and do the same to the opposite side.

Now you have finished your very own Cardigan! Enjoy!
